Academic exchange with Mae Fah Luang University (MFU)

In November 2018, Director Yu-Hsu Chang and Professor Ta-Wui Cheng of the Institute of Mineral Resources Engineering visited Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), Thailand for academic exchanges and recruiting activities. MFU is a national university founded in 1998. It is a relatively new comprehensive university located in the province of Chiang Rai Province in northern Thailand with total enrollment more than 20,000. The establishment of the university was to fulfill the needs for higher education in northern Thailand and has become a nationwide famous university over two decades of development. The MFU campus consists of a series of modern buildings covering more than 800 hectares and is surrounded by spectacular mountains and forests. The quiet and tranquil environment is perfect for teaching and study. Due to the advantages in superior location and along with the development of the country, MFU also offers higher education services to neighboring countries along the Mekong River, and it has more than 1,000 international student enrollments now. This visit was aimed for people from materials related disciplines. During the information session, the students were given introduction to National Taipei University of Technology, Department of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering, and Institute of Mineral Resources Engineering and Professor Ta-Wui Cheng gave an academic talk as well. The trip was well received by Dean of the MFU School of Science, Professor Uraiwan Intatha and Professor Darunee Wattanasiriwech, and topics about the academic collaboration, including visiting scholar program, student exchange program, and so on were discussed. In the end, the MoU for the academic exchange between the College of Engineering of NTUT and the School of Science of MFU was signed.
