In November 2018, Director Y.H. Chang and Professor T.W. Cheng of the Institute of Mineral Resource Engineering visited Thammasat University (TU) for academic exchange.

TU is a well-known university in Thailand with more than 30,000 students majored in science and technology. The colleges of Science and Technology are located on the outskirts of Bangkok. This visit focuses on the recruitment of students who study in materials and polymers and textiles colleges.

TU is ranked as the top three universities in Thailand. TU and NTUT are sister schools and has frequent academic exchanges and Joint Research Project every year. However, this visit is the first department to department contact. During the meeting TU proposed exchange students and visiting scholar programs, and invite our professor to TU for academic exchange. Prof. Supakorn Boonyuen, Assistant International Director of TU International Affairs, also accept the invitation to NTUT next year. Prof. Supakorn Boonyuen also invites scholars from Taiwan participate two international academic conferences that will be held in Bangkok in 2019.

We like to thank Professor TU Fu’s arrangement for this trip and her warm hospitality. Professor Fu is also the head of the Taiwan Institute of cultural and industrial research development center and the counselor of the Industrial Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Professor Fu also invite us to join the presentation that shows fruitful results from the cooperation between the Thai Textile Center and the artists in the afternoon. The meeting with center Chairman, Pramode Vidtayasuk, also enhances further bilateral exchanges in the future.
